Then they have won

If we start giving up our Constitutional freedoms in the vain pursuit of security, then the terrorists have won.

If we are too afraid to go to bed without washing every dish and cleaning the kitchen countertops, then the ants have won.

If we believe that everything at our local farmer’s market is too expensive, then Walmart has won.

If we spend every moment obsessing over our property values, then the Realtors have won.

If we are just too stupid to know any better, then Fox News has won.

If we all start using “tall” as a synonym for small, then Starbucks has won.

If we continue to drive SUVs, then the oil industry has won.

If we start applauding every odd sprout in our garden as a native plant, then the weeds have won.

If we believe that going to Santa Monica for dinner is too much trouble, then the San Diego Freeway has won.
