Were you actually surprised ... ?

... that after electing a former oil executive as president, gas prices are through the roof and corporate profits are at all-time highs?

... that a war with a totally flawed rationale has also been totally flawed in its execution?

... that a government that can't fix a sidewalk almost always produces lame public art?

... that a process that has produced so few good presidents in recent years has also failed to produce so few good candidates?

... that with large corporations profiting from illegal immigration, so little has been done to stop it?

... that with so many high ranking government officials getting caught telling lies, so few people trust the government to tell them the truth.
