The work of Hermosa Beach resident Robert Dob falls into that gray area between illustration and fine art. The recent Otis College graduate has a unique take on his subject matter, one that makes his work stand out.

“A lot of what I do crosses over into fine art,” he said. “If my illustrations can stand as fine art, that’s great.”

Dob usually prefers to work with oil on panel, although he does a great deal of drawing in his work creating storyboards in Hollywood.
