Ways in which the San Diego Freeway is like Al Qaeda

It can be at its worst anytime, day or night.

It hates your freedom.

It often just doesn’t make any sense at all.

It is heartless and faceless.

A leviathan structure, it can be in many places at once and take many shapes.

It will lull you into complacency and then harm you when you least expect it.

It occasionally kills people.

It never sleeps and never stops.

No one ever seems to be in charge, and those who are nominally in charge are impossible to find for the purposes of redress.

Our government can’t seem to do anything about it.

It has been responsible for the total destruction of neighborhoods.

It is divisive (literally).

It has managed to infiltrate the United States.

It is perhaps attractive to those who don't know better.

No one in authority was willing to recognize and address the problems it causes before it was too late.

It puts a lot of smoke and particulates into the air.

It targets civilians.
